First you warm up in our locally built saunas that are stoked between 150 and 200 degrees, then you jump into the freezing cold waters of Lake Minnewashta, and repeat for up to 3 hours.

Whether you're a seasoned sauna aficionado or a first-timer, our Sauna Camp staff is ready to walk you through the whole process to make sure your experience is nothing less than extraordinary.

We are open Thursday-Sunday from December through the end of April at Camp Fire Minnesota in Excelsior, MN (just 15 miles west of the city center). 


Buy a day pass, 5-pack, 10-pack, season pass, or treat friends/family with a gift card. You can even book a private sauna with just your friends & family. It's like summer camp for adults, but all winter long.

Sauna Culture

In Scandinavia, the sauna is not considered a solitary practice. For many, it was their center of their community.


For Finnish immigrants, it was often the first building they built on their properties. Where stories were told, and legends were made. They viewed it as an place to connect with other like-minded people in a community setting, spark their souls, and melt away the stresses of daily life.


At Sauna Camp, we believe in the same practice. Our camp is a place where strangers become friends, memories are shared, and new connections are made. We take our physical and mental health seriously and think that our community plays an important role in both. 

There's a Finnish word "Sisu" that roughly translates to grit & tenacity. Embracing the fire & ice builds this certain type of confidence that you'll take home with you.

After (or before) basking in the warmth of the sauna, take the plunge into the icy waters of Lake Minnewashta for an exhilarating contrast that will leave you feeling refreshed and alive. When the ice freezes, we will have multiple community cold plunges cut into the natural ice. Make it a quick dip to cool off or a couple minutes to push your expectations of what you are capable of. The frozen lake experience is not just a challenge; it's a badge of honor and a story to share around our communal bonfire.
